The Process
Design a workshop
1
At Kaleidoscope Training Center, we put you at the center of the workshop-design process. Let’s lay it out:
Introductions
For our work to be effective, it is imperative that we develop a deep understanding of your team’s needs and goals. We’ll cover everything from your team’s structure and communication styles to the dynamics that might be affecting your team’s development.
Goal Setting
Together, we’ll hone in on 2 - 5 target skills you’d like to see emerge or evolve among your team. The number and diversity of the target skills will vary depending on the duration and quantity of workshops you plan to provide for your team.
Agenda Building
We’ll put together a proposed agenda comprised of the most effective exercises for your target skills, as determined by the latest research available. You are encouraged to participate in this phase as much or as little as makes sense for you.

Studies in the field of Applied Improvisation, as well as our own participant surveys, tell us that the efficacy of these programs increases exponentially with each session. We strongly encourage clients to book multi-session workshops (1 - 6 week interval) to maximize skill development in participants.

Our use of applied improvisation as a learning modality de-emphasizes performance and comedy in favor of creating a low-stakes environment for folks to try new things and break out of old patterns.
Getting Comfy
This is vulnerable, heart-forward work/play, so feeling safe and secure is essential. We introduce ourselves and ease into being silly with a warm up, co-creation of group agreements, and an overview of the applied improvisation structure and methodology.
PlayTime
Games are curated to support your team’s specific needs and goals. Each exercise will build on the last, ensuring that participants feel safe enough to fully participate. We will coach your team through each exercise, supporting implementation of the target skills.
Debrief
To ensure that our workshops are effective for real-world application, we debrief after each game. This is the juiciest part; we facilitate a conversation covering what happened, how it felt, what we learned, and how we can apply it to our work and life.
& Repeat!
