About the event
In a season when “gift giving” often gets tied up with buying things to affirm our relationships, this workshop invites us to explore a decolonial way of thinking about gifts and how they link us together—one rooted in connection, care, and reciprocity. Inspired by Robin Wall Kimmerer’s The Serviceberry and the improv principle of “giving gifts,” we’ll play our way into noticing the abundance that already exists in our connections with each other and the more-than-human world.
Through simple and joyful games, we’ll practice receiving and offering gifts in the form of attention, imagination, and presence. Together, we will experiment with what becomes possible when we treat generosity as something we create together—not something we purchase. Come as you are in this sleepy and hectic season to play, notice abundance, and build tiny webs of reciprocity together. And please - bring us a gift instead of paying for this workshop! See…
